Hi All,

I am eagerly awaiting my Renault Austral techno esprit Alpine (Shadow Grey/Black Roof), which should arrive soon and had a question about whether its worth getting the mud flaps fitted at the dealer before driving away the car.
I have read many articles regarding mud flaps and it appears they are good idea for the unnecessary safety of chips, dirt against your car , but what everyone's thought?

I queried this with my dealer when I purchased my Austral including the protection pack, ie boot liner - sill protectors and surprised when he advised that mud flaps are not included as they were with my kadjar, as they do not prevent many stone chips and furthermore they can diminish the air dynamics which could increase petrol consumption.

I have recently purchased the genuine renault austral mud flaps but not fitted them yet.
Having cleaned the car a few times now and witnessed the mud splashes along the bottom wheel arches and sills I feel they will be of benefit.
I will fit them soon. The front ones look like you can fit them by just moving the wheel onto full lock for access, but the rears will require wheel removal.
I'll take some pictures when I do it.
I bought them online from Renault parts direct with good service.
