When our Austral Iconic order was placed towards the end of last year, the most common reviews were of the Matt silver paint finish.
Attractive as it looked I have always been a "Shiny" type of guy and love a dazzle finish.
It did make a visit to the dealer quite interesting as we chatted about the pros and cons of the matt type paint and the differences that need to be adopted in it's care when compared to Gloss.
Repairing scratches and blemishes and general care came across as being a more delicate process and after watching a number of Matt finish YT videos, I stuck with Shiny.
The gloss finish wheel arch trims on my model also came under scrutiny, as regular cleaning could result in scratch swirls appearing over time. One solution I thought about was to have the arch trims vinyl wrapped in a clear wrap, possibly a black gloss wrap or even a colour change if you so desired.
My question to you is, " what's your view of Matt paint finishes to date and have you had experience of having vinyl wrapping being carried out on small areas such as wheel arch trims".
"Is it durable and would it give anti scuff protection".
Over to you ,
Mr rugby.
Matt grey finish or Shiny ????
